Beautiful hotel with lovely rooms. They are modern and brand new. The bed was comfortable and I loved the bathroom. Loved all the fixtures and the way they have decorated things. It has a European feel. The lobby has a lovely entry and a bar. Breakfast is included and it was delicious. Yogurt, fruit and toast. Bartender was very friendly and helpful. I loved this hotel.
Best location in San Diego! If you like to walk, this is the place to park your car in a garage (there are 2 right next to the hotel (about $25-$35 a day/overnight). You can use valet, but it cost more and they just go throw your car in a parking lot nearby. We parked our car on day one, and walked everywhere! We walked to Petco Park a few times, the Gas Lamp district every day, Little Italy (super close walk and very easy), the USS Midway, Sea Side Village (tourist shopping), and the Top Gun Bar. Hotel staff was super nice, and the entire place was really clean. Gym was okay and it has what you need to get a workout in. Our room was a king with a view of the city. Room was just what we needed....a small place to rest as we spend the days out and about. It does get a little noisy at night with the sirens and horns, but hey, the sounds of the big city sound good to me. There are a bunch of homeless around, but they leave you alone....they don't even beg, but they do shit on the sidewalk so watch your step :). This hotel was close to all the food places we wanted to try and we were able to walk to all the spots that the downtown area has to offer. After walking around for 4 days, this is going to be my go-to place when in San Diego because it has the best location, super nice staff, everything was clean, the rooms were small but comfortable, and parking garages were right next to the hotel. I would not have mind using an outside lot for a bit cheaper, but there are so many people walking around and the homeless are out and about, I felt better having the car inside a garage and covered by cameras. Hit me up with any questions.
This is one of the worst experiences I have had with a hotel. Do not come here if you want a nice room with nice ambiance. I reserved a room 2 months ahead of a wedding I was attending and requested on my reservation two queen beds because I am with my sons. I arrived early and was checked in and told the room was not ready and they were putting a rush on cleaning the room. They took my phone number and I was told they would call me when the room was ready, have a seat at the bar. I waited over an hour and no call received, so I inquired and was told the room was ready. However I was told they had no queen beds and would upgrade me to a suite. To my surprise the suite was a closet, very small room with a king bed and pull out couch, small window-no view, my son’s legs hung over the couch bed. I thought by expressing my dissatisfaction and reason why would help. I talked to the manager, Jose who was not helpful Aand had no solution to the problem. I paid just under $600 for a closet. To me this hotel wants your money and does not honor your reservation. Do not stay here if you value your peace of mind and enjoy nice stays at expensive hotels. I will never be back or refer anyone here!!! WARNING….DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!
