I had such a memorable stay at The Gunawarman! From the moment I walked into the room, I was blown away by its elegant old-world charm wood-paneled walls, parquet floors, and tasteful vintage touches that made it feel more like a luxury residence than a hotel. The room was spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed from a great coffee machine to plush bedding and high-quality toiletries. The bathroom was equally impressive, with strong water pressure and a deep, relaxing bathtub. Staff were warm and attentive throughout my stay genuinely kind and eager to help, which made the experience feel extra personal. The location was also a major plus right in the heart of South Jakarta, close to cafes, restaurants, and nightlife, but still a peaceful retreat. Yes, there were minor quirks here and there, but nothing that overshadowed the overall comfort and quality of the stay. I’d definitely recommend requesting a higher floor to avoid street noise, but otherwise, this hotel ticks all the boxes. Highly recommend The Gunawarman if you’re looking for a boutique hotel with soul, comfort, and a fantastic location!

One of the things that first caught my attention was the sophisticated interior. It felt a page from a book from 200 years ago. I wasn’t wrong as the staff confirmed the hotel is more than 200 years old. The bed is upper soft and the breakfast menu is made to order. It seemed like a luxury hotel with private membership. Although the rooms are quite small, it does not feel overwhelming. I was greeted with gifts in my room which was quite thoughtful. The service was pleasant and excellent. The room service was fast. The location is on a major road which could be prone to traffic but it’s also located in the heart of Town so you can move around easily. Overall, I plan to visit again and spend more time.
