If you have a large group, this is one of the greatest places to stay because you can have your own section. The location is ideal because it is close to all the party and shopping areas. The staff at the Haere is pleasant and professional. The breakfast could be better, and the room could be enhanced little, but that's just me being picky. We stayed 10 nights in a 2 bedroom villa. The staff were very friendly. The pool was well maintained,crystal clear water with not too much chlorine. Its located a few minutes walk from the main strip with lots of restaurants, bars and shops. A few minor negatives: The central location means there's quite a bit of trafic noise all day and night. The villa itself could do with a bit of TLC, eg the toilet paper holder in one bathroom had a pencil holding the roll,which fell out a few times. The lighting wasn't bright enough in the rooms; the plastic filter cover in the bottom of the pool was broken. Also be aware that there is a sewage drainway running under the pavement in front of the villa which stinks! Hold your breath going in and out the main entrance, but once you're inside you couldn't smell it. These were minor inconveniences and we still really enjoyed our stay there. Another positive is the happy chappy Chinese restaurant is literally across the road,highly recommend paying it a visit.
It was way too noisy to relax, and one of the rooms only had hot water for the shower, which initially came out black! They falsely claimed to be fully booked and only allowed us to relocate after we pointed out that there were still available rooms in the booking system. It’s definitely not worth the price and completely ruined my vacation. Almost two years later, I’m still upset about it.
