Arrived at midnight work no reservation.. The gentleman, for that he certainly is, answered the door and very kindly and graciously welcomed me and made a room available for me.. The room, top notch, lovely bed and ensuite, nicely decorated and very very clean.. Who simply for sunshine who arrived with no where to stay the Prom Hotel made me very welcome.. Thank you guys.. To you Sir, thank you.. You are much more than a night porter.. 11/08/25
What an incredible spot!! We were holidaying in the area and needed a dog friendly restaurant as an absolute must. We landed on The Prom Hotel due to their very impressive “Paws On The Prom” addition. I’ve never seen a restaurant have a dedicated dog menu. The food was absolutely amazing, and we were so impressed how much they catered to the dogs. Well done 👏🏻
Disappointing stay at this 4 star hotel. I booked a family room for 2 nights. Intentionally booked a room with air con as family needed it for health reasons. It was broken and the unit was taped off with a do not use sign. There were no other family rooms available. No alternative solution was offered and I was not offered a refund/discount until I requested one. We had booked 4 rooms between us and 3 out of the four rooms had broken aircon. As we were also staying with other family, we tried to make it work. Hardly slept as the family rooms are also directly set over the bar area. Especially with aircon not working, we had to have windows open and it was hot and very noisy, especially on our last night. Music in the hotel bar played until very late/past 11. Some noise is to be expected but as it is supposed to be a family hotel, I was surprised there wasn't a decent cut off time. I'm used to camping and roughing it...so it takes a lot to disturb my sleep! I did politely complain about the noise levels to reception in the morning (I genuinely rarely complain. I've worked in hospitality and I appreciate how much hard work goes into these roles) . I wasn't offered any apology or even any acknowledgement for my family's discomfort. Which to me, was very poor customer service. Food was basic (which is fine but prices did not reflect this), inconsistent quality and very overpriced. Decor and furnishings were tired and worn in most of our bedrooms. Including carpets rising up and causing a trip hazard. No hotel parking or discounts for nearby parking. I'm happy staying at budget hotels and hostels if the price and ratings also reflect this. But this is listed as a 4 star and it really isn't. It's a budget hotel with boutique prices. Positives: Area. Location is very close to pier and seafront. Restaurant/bar staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. Food portions were huge. There is nearby parking about 5 mins walk away, (but it cost me £18 for a 72 hour permit) We were given a discount due to the lack of aircon, when I requested one. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel.
