The Hill Village

The Hill Village is a private, jungle immersed, unique, tree-house-inspired collection of bungalows located up in the hills. From our front deck, we had a beautiful view of Baan Nam beach; a view that got even better from the pool. The location was perfect for us, because we were able to put some distance between the popular touristy areas and our home-base, while also capitalizing on a jungle experience, and didn't feel the need to do some of the outdoorsy, hiking activities we had originally planned. Although there are restaurants and shops within walking distance, the hills are steep, and I would recommend getting scooters for transportation. It was super convenient that we were able to rent them directly from the property (they provided us a taxi service to and from our ferry). Although the photographs online make the layout appear larger, it turned out to be the perfect size for our 2 couple group. The house itself is very unique, beautiful wood structures and a one of a kind, craftsman-style aesthetic. It was charming and unforgettable. While only the bedrooms were air conditioned, we didn't really need AC since it cooled down at night. Beware of mosquitos, though, especially down at the pool after dusk. All in all, I was very happy with our stay here, and would definitely return on a future trip.

Spent 4 beautiful nights in this cozy little hidden property atop a hill with breathtaking views of the ocean. Words fail to describe the magical experience. The cottage was perfectly equipped and very spacious, with a bedroom, kitchen and a living room. Lot of space to hangout with a personal balcony with a hammock. I wish I could go back!!!! This resort is 10 mins walk away from the restaurants, bars and beach. The way uphill is not easy, but it's a good workout. Of course you need a scooter if you plan to visit other beaches. The bungalow is a bit old, but it provides everything we need - kitchen, drinking water, fridge, laundry rack, 50 baht to use the washing machine. The pool area is definitely a highlight. Because of its location, you won't hear noises of scooters, motorcycles or cars. Overall, for those who don't care too much about having a fancy-looking lobby, or a modern bathroom, this is a place value for money.
