The Hillcrest Luxury Accommodation in Castleblayney Town

What an absolute gem! We stayed at The Hillcrest in Castleblayney and honestly didn’t want to leave. It’s a beautiful 4-bedroom bungalow just a short walk from the town centre, yet it feels so peaceful and private. The house is stunning—spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and incredibly well equipped. We especially loved the two cosy sitting rooms, the spacious dining area, and the kitchen that had everything we needed. The Irish fruit loaf left out for us was such a thoughtful and delicious touch! The bedrooms were really comfortable, and both bathrooms had fantastic showers. We were lucky with the weather and spent a lot of time enjoying the enclosed courtyard, which is a real sun trap! But what made this trip truly unforgettable were the hosts, Raymond and Emma. They went above and beyond to make our stay special. This was an important visit for my granddad, who’s a lifelong fan of Big Tom, and Raymond took the time to give us a personal tour of Big Tom’s home—an experience we’ll always treasure. The Hillcrest is more than just a beautiful place to stay—it’s a warm and welcoming home, a reflection of the lovely people who run it. Highly, highly recommend.

We recently stayed at The Hillcrest and it was wonderful! Super clean, spacious, nice back patio. Just like shown in the pictures. Quiet in the evening. Convenient drive from Dublin Airport (about 1-1/2 hours) and easy to find. Owner is helpful and communicative and even had some treats stocked in the kitchen for us when we arrived. The town of Castleblayney is very nice. There is a beautiful lake with walking paths just 0.5 miles away. Grocery, coffee shops, pubs and restaurants all within walking distance of the house. A very nice town to visit. We used this as a stopping point to Giant's Causeway - it was a full day to drive up to the shore, explore and drive back but it is feasible.

We stayed at Hillcrest for 6 nights in August 2025 and thoroughly enjoyed the break. 2 adults, 2 kids (aged 16 and 11) with plenty of space for us all. Raymond was extremely responsive and the house was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Castleblayney is a lovely town, we recommend Lough Mucko for a visit and Blaney Bistro and The View Restaurant out at Concra Wood for food. We would love to come back!
