The Historic Huis ter Duin

A wonderful experience at this hotel, each employee was kind, food was great, and the room was comfortable. The views were incredible! I even had a very polite seagull who saw that i had leftovers, who knocked on my window to ask for them!

Really nice and atmospheric hotel with good service. As for the five star hotel, I only expected better amenities in the room (bath looked old. Too old) and in the hotel (swimming pool was kind of a let down). Overall pleasant stay.

Not a „Grand hotel“ at all. Nothing resembling a high class experience whatsoever. As with the whole monstrous building, it seems like someone is just trying to cash out on what’s left of former, glory days. It’s almost hilarious, the way they‘re mimicking a show of a luxurious hotel. 80% of staff seem to be in their teens or early 20s and whilst they‘re all friendly, no one seems to have a clue on what to do. The renovated rooms are well designed and offer a great view. The outdoor terrace is a great and unique place to enjoy a sunny day. However: our room was dusty and a bit musty to begin with. After the first night it wasn’t even cleaned. We asked for turndown service as offered via email but were never given one. I asked for advice / ideas on how to do something nice for a birthday but didn’t get a reply. The rest of the building is in a terrible state. Everything is well beyond it’s time. I would have told them all of this personally if they had asked. The inexperienced staff, which there seems to be an abundance off, can’t muster anything apart from a friendly „Hello“. They just seem to walk about and stare into thin air.
