The Hoxton Portland

The staff are so lovely and helpful! Loved the decor in the lobby and in the room. Stayed in a Snug room, which was a great value, and really does have just what you need and not anything you don't, though we would probably upgrade sizes next time cause it's a little tight with suitcases. It's convenient to public transit and incredibly convenient to voodoo donuts. The valet was definitely worth the price, and I HIGHLY recommend booking it directly on their website with your reservation, get a lot of flexibility on timing that way!

The Hoxton has almost everything you’d want in a hotel—stylish design, friendly staff, and a prime location right in the center of Old Town. Unfortunately, it falls short in two important areas: space and cleanliness. The rooms are extremely small, and some of the furnishings look a bit worn or disheveled. In the hallways, the black carpet makes it easy to spot dust gathering along the baseboards and on the doors, which detracts from the otherwise chic atmosphere. Great spot for location and vibe, but be prepared to compromise on room size and pristine upkeep.

The room was fine, the bed was a little low to the ground, tho. The service at the lobby bar was great, but you did have to enter the basement bar from outside the hotel. Location was pretty good. Walking distance to Voodoo Donuts and other places to eat, as well as 10 min walk to/from Amtrak station.
