I felt let down by the hotel because: there was no prior warning that the hotel was undergoing extensive refurbishment and renovation, neither when booking online nor when I physically reached the front counter. Even as of today, 6/8/25, the official Imperial Palace website still mentions nothing about refurbishment and renovation 😂 It was only after paying for the full fee for my stay, that I was told "Sorry Sir, no pool. No spa. Many hotel areas are not accessible because of renovation". For me, this comes across as disingenuous and overall not great service. Where I come from, that reply from staff SHOULD be "Sorry Sir, you were not told upfront, here's a discount of x% from your room total price". For me, it is not about money. Rs50,000 is pocket change. That is not the point. Point is, this is wrong for the customer. And that is how I want all hospitality establishments in this country to think! I want India to lead in everything, including hospitality. Anyway, that aside. Service and food has been great. I would recommend kitchen stock dairy-free milk (soya milk is easily available in every shop in India from what I have seen so far). Thanks Suraj (385)
Extremely Disappointing & Unacceptable Experience at Hotel Imperial Palace, Rajkot As someone from the travel trade with years of industry experience, I have never had to write a negative review — until now. My recent experience with the team at Hotel Imperial Palace Rajkot was not only unprofessional but deeply disturbing. Despite having clear written communication regarding a past refund, the hotel blatantly refused to adjust it — both before and after check-in. To make matters worse, instead of resolving the matter with courtesy, the Hotel Manager Mr escalated the situation in the most unacceptable way possible. He snatched the phone from my hand, and his aggressive and threatening behavior, along with his team, amounted to manhandling. This is completely unbecoming of anyone in the hospitality industry, let alone someone who claims to be the “owner” of the property. His arrogance, lack of basic decency, and zero sense of guest relations is a shameful representation of the values that define true hospitality. I strongly urge genuine travelers to be extremely cautious before considering this property. No guest deserves to be treated with such hostility and disrespect. This act is absolutely unforgivable, and I sincerely request everyone to share, tweet, and raise awareness so that the true face of this management comes to light and appropriate corrective action is taken. No individual — owner or not — should be allowed to misuse their position and tarnish the reputation of an entire industry. I Checked and in 2 Hours checked out due to Humilation and threat by Hotel Manager Mr Rahul Roy..
