The Inn at Palo Alto

Outstanding place. Polite and helpful staff. Cozy rooms. Garden full of flowers and humming-birds. The pool and jacuzzi are amazing — relaxing there after a trek and gazing at the coffee plantation across the river is an exceptional experience. Well-equipped fitness center. Phenomenal breakfast with a view. Highly recommend and truly worth the price.

The hotels' garden is lovely and the jacuzzi next to the river is the heart of the place. The swimming pool is not heated. Convenient gym. Rooms are spacious, just most of them with big windows facing the common areas, so not much privacy and feels a bit old. Well equiped, with big tvs. It is far from the center. They say 30 mins walk yet do not recommrnd as you may encounter local aggresive dogs on the way. Taxi 4 or 5 usd to the town. They can organise well priced transport i.e to Bocas del Toro 8 am for 30 usd.

Charming idea with small houses set in a lush garden setting. The breakfast buffet was very nice: bagels, salmon, fruit, cheese, and eggs. However, the room layout wasn’t for us. Our room had a large window that opened onto a shared hallway, meaning little privacy unless the curtains were closed, which made the room feel dark. While the grounds are beautiful, we wouldn’t stay again due to the room setup.
