This was one of the most charming hotels we have ever stayed. The history, the beauty and all the staff made it a hotel I will look forward to coming back to. Val at the front desk and Johnny at the bar were so incredible, we had to stop and chat with them every day because they made the experience even that much better. It was also one of the cleanest properties I have ever stayed. The staff take impeccable pride and care to the property - and it shows! Kari
I was planning to meet my husband for lunch on a weekday. While I had visited the resort a few times before, I would not say I am entirely familiar with the details of the campus. I previewed the website looking for Doyle's Pub, but could not find any map of the grounds or anything telling me where to go. Relying on road signs proved even less fruitful since the signs were in very small print and located in inconvenient spots. After locating the entrance and walking up to the door, I noticed the outdoor sign (which was entirely covered by the table umbrellas on the patio). The waitress was friendly, however, the food took 30 minutes to be delivered after placing the order. I found this to be quite a long time, considering we were THE ONLY guests there... The quality of the food was good, which was the only positive part of the lunch. As I was leaving the parking lot, I found that the landscaping bushes were blocking my view of oncoming traffic. That happens to be a pet peeve of mine, and I don't know why those issues still exist when they are clearly road hazards. I am giving a 3-star review as an average rating of my total experience. I recommend improving information/signage on the website and the grounds so that future guests are not as frustrated as I was. Also, the servers may want to inquire about the guests' schedule to see if they are under any time constraints, or plan to enjoy a leisurely meal. After working in customer service roles for decades, I can say that small gestures like that, especially from a highly regarded establishment, go a long way towards an ideal guest experience.
Firstly, it was my anniversary with my fiance and we came for the pool and it was closed and we weren't told this prior. I had a beautiful red elegant dress I had just gotten before the occasion. I also had nice swimsuits I brought, along with many other nice clothes. When we checked out, we missed one of our (big) bags full of my clothes by mistake and left it in the room. Upon realizing it the same day we checked out, I called to ask them to get the bag for me so I could pick it up. They told me there wasn't any bags, so basically someone in housekeeping stole my nice clothing. I never got them back. And what would have been a good time became a bad memory. Its been awhile since and I am 100% certain it was stolen. I don't have them anymore! They are in some housekeepers closet at home. Also, the general manager likes to comment on negative reviews and pretend he cares, but he does not follow up after.. he ignores your replies! it's just for show!
