The location is near the Highway Exit and Airport, but quite far from city centre, away from local restaurants but near malls with major restaurant chains. The room however, is very spacious and luxurious.
Strategic location. Closed to prambanan temple. Not too far from city center. Polite hotel staff. Concierge, late respons. Old building. Need to be rejuvenated.
This hotel, which has been around for more than three decades, is fairly clean. During my stay, I had quite a memorable experience, though not entirely in a good way. There’s no elevator in the front building, so we had to carry our luggage up and down the stairs. If you’re coming with family, especially with small children, accessing the rooms can be a real struggle. Just imagine, our room was on the 5th floor, and we were completely out of breath climbing the stairs while carrying a baby and our suitcases. The bathroom was spacious and clean, but the water was dirty. I’ve attached a photo showing brownish water in the bathtub. Doesn’t this place have a proper water treatment system? The water looked more like it came from a river. The room itself was quite large, with decor straight out of the early ‘90s. The TV was an old box-style model. seriously, it's 2025! Nobody watches regular TV anymore; it’s all YouTube and Netflix now. The parking area is way in the back, and there were no staff around to help or guide us. It felt eerie, and the distance didn’t help either. The swimming pool is decently sized, but during peak season like school holidays, it gets overcrowded, like a bowl of cendol. The interior design is dimly lit and feels like stepping back into the early '90s. For Gen X and early Millennials, maybe that’s fine. But for Gen Z and Gen Alpha? Trust me, you won’t feel comfortable here. You’ll probably end up making a 3-episode horror podcast about your stay. I left the hotel early in the morning and was shocked to find that the lights were already turned off by 5 AM. It was pitch dark and difficult to use the stairs. Seriously, management why are the lights turned off that early? It just adds to the spooky vibe. It’s not surprising, the hotel was inaugurated by the former orde baru president back in 1992. You can imagine how exclusive it must have been back then. But now, 38 years later, it feels outdated. A proper renovation is badly needed, especially for the TV, entertainment system, and overall hospitality experience. Overall, my stay was quite disappointing. For a hotel rated four stars and priced at a premium, I expected much more. I’m now reconsidering ever staying at any Jayakarta hotel chain again. I hope this serves as constructive feedback for future improvements. Thank you.
