The Jerai Hill Resort

The trip up to Jerai Hill was a bit challenging since it’s on top of a hill, but totally worth it once you reach the top. The view of Kedah is absolutely beautiful. There are plenty of interesting spots to explore around the area too. Great for families…there’s a dinosaur park, swimming pool, strawberry shop, and more. Jerai Hill also offers a bunch of fun activities including for team building and company activities. When I went last year, the glass bridge wasn’t there yet, but this year they’ve added it — such a nice way to enjoy the Kedah scenery. The cool weather makes the activities even more fun. The only downside was the bathroom. It was dirty and honestly felt a bit gross to use. There were black moldy spots in the corners and between the walls. It’s a shame because the place is so nice, but the toilet was disappointing. I really hope Jerai Hill Resort pays more attention to cleanliness especially since the price isn’t cheap. A clean and nice room should be a basic expectation.

I visited this place with my friends and family a couple of times. Really good place to stay but my visit was for few hours to quick chill. if you wish for a quick travel, stress free, nature loving and quiet place, this place is the right pick. Mountain view and sea view is added advantage.

Day trip to Jerai is something that my family and i occasionally do. We will take a drive up Jerai Hill around 2pm. Around one year ago, they start charging a fee for cars to go uphill. Once reach top, those who are not putting up a night in the hotel are not allowed to enter. We will need to park outside of the resort and walk in. Here, an entrance fee per person is charged. Although a nominal fee, we still miss the times when it was totally free. Within Jerai Hill Resort, there are many attractions and upcoming attractions still being planned. Best days to visit and stay over are Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Kedah’s weekend starts on Thursday and other states till Sunday. Some people check out on Monday. We observed that Thursdays to Sundays are usually packed with people. During the high noon, it is usually quite hot. Weather starts to cool towards the evening. Stars are a plenty although not visible with naked eyes, our cameras captured them beautifully. Hydrangeas are aplenty and bloomed in July to August. Lush and beautiful flowers is something i romanticise a lot. Cakes and pastries from Simple Day Cafe is nothing to shout about. We took the steamboat and grill from the hotel cafe while watching sunset from the glass terrace. Overall is a nice experience namely because we enjoy three different setting for our day trip, the high noon period, the golden sunset hour and the starry night cool breeze.
