The Joule

We have been here numerous time since it first opened. Always excellent. The lobby is clean, cozy and inviting. From the front desk arriving, until check out you will not be disappointed. The rooms modern but cozy. Fantastic. Plenty of options for going to the bar. There is more than one choice. Go up to the 10th floor to explore the pool and bar. The CBD restaurant is closed as they are renovating it and new cuisine. They still have one restaurant to eat at. However, you can walk outside front or back, plenty of food choices nearby. You won't be disappointed.

The Joule is truly one of a kind — a hotel where design, history, and culture come together in a way that is both sophisticated and soulful. From the moment you enter, you are welcomed into a space that feels more like an art installation than a typical hotel. The lobby is curated like a gallery, filled with colorful art that not only captivates but also tells the story of Dallas and the building’s unique heritage. The energy is bold, refined, and unmistakably Texan. The rooms are spectacular — high ceilings, carefully layered materials, and a stunning combination of textures like leather and textiles. The design is warm, luxurious, and intentionally understated. It is an appreciated style — subtle elegance that does not overwhelm but invites you in. Every detail feels thoughtfully placed, from the custom headboards to the calming color palettes. As an interior designer from Miami, I was inspired by how this hotel integrates architectural interiors with storytelling. It is rare to find a space that reflects not only a city’s aesthetic but also its emotional character. The Joule does just that — and more. It is a place where you do not just stay — you feel, experience, and remember.

I spent one night at the hotel. I loved the art displays and the room is nice and spacious. My only complaint is the noise. I can hear the traffic and other hotel guests talking (seems to be right outside my room) in the middle of the night. My room was right next to the elevator so that probably made the noise issue worse. Overall, I don’t recommend this hotel to guests that need a quiet place to rest their heads.
