We had good service throughout our stay and the location and amenities are great. Very kid friendly atmosphere with a lot of activities specifically for them. The building as well as furnishings and decor were dated and sometimes even stained or badly worn. Our bedding and towels were perfectly clean, though. Be aware that some of the "oceanfront" rooms see more of the pool than the ocean. That was fine with us because our oceanfront patio room was super convenient to the pool where we spent most of our time. We enjoyed our vacation, but don't expect a truly luxurious experience. I'm reluctantly giving a 5-star for the service, amenities, activities, and what this place could be with some investment in renovation.

I’ve been coming here with my parents and grandparents for years, and we’re currently in the middle of our trip. The restaurant, food, bar, and service have all been phenomenal! This is also the nicest room we’ve stayed in here — it’s in the historic main building, ocean side. The bed is very comfortable, though the room itself is a bit dated. That said, I do have some concerns about cleanliness. The wall vent is broken, and behind it was quite dirty (to be fair, we wouldn’t have noticed if it weren’t broken). There’s also a moldy orange wedged between a nightstand and the wall — I’ll address it myself if it’s still there today. Around the pool, many chairs are stained or have a black mold-like substance. The main pool has a strong chlorine smell, with what appears to be chlorine powder or crystals along the water’s edge, plus noticeable debris — it doesn’t seem to be cleaned or vacuumed daily. The hot tub looks overly foamy, like a bubble bath, suggesting the chemicals are off. Although the ocean is just a stone’s throw away, access isn’t simple. You have to walk to a beach gate, and one end’s gate is broken and unmarked. If you don’t know this, it can be frustrating — especially if you’re barefoot on the hot sand or pavement. Lastly, the music throughout the hotel — both indoors and by the pool — has been almost exclusively 80s–90s rock and hair bands (Twisted Sister, AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, etc.). It feels out of place for the demographic and the image of a “luxury resort.” Not a deal killer for us but might be for some. We’re still enjoying our stay, but will likely explore other options for future visits.

If I could give a zero star rating I would...Absolutely DO NOT recommend staying at this "resort". We spent several thousand on this trip just for it to be a nightmare honeymoon. My husband and I stayed in the Governor’s Suite for our honeymoon in early June, excited and hopeful based on glowing recommendations. Unfortunately, what we experienced was completely unacceptable and deeply disappointing — especially from a resort that brands itself as a luxury destination. From the moment we arrived, we felt unwelcome. Staff were consistently cold, dismissive, and condescending. As younger guests, we couldn’t help but feel we were being judged and treated differently — something we’ve never encountered at any other high-end resort. If this was due to our age, it’s not only unprofessional, it’s discriminatory. The condition of our room was equally shocking: broken windows, one boarded up, and bugs inside the suite. For one of your most expensive rooms, this is inexcusable. The physical issues alone would warrant complaint — but paired with the disrespectful treatment we received, it turned our honeymoon into a stressful, upsetting experience. This resort has lost our trust. I’ve told family members not to book here in the future, and I hope management takes this feedback seriously — not just to fix broken windows, but to address the broken guest experience. We were incredibly disappointed—what was supposed to be a celebratory, once-in-a-lifetime trip felt frustrating and isolating instead. We are beyond upset at not only the experience but the response of the administration when brought to their attention. If we could've canceled and not been charged we would have after the first night. I can not believe we had to spend so so much for such a nightmare. Words can't express how angry and frustrated we are. We had to stay in our room to avoid encounters due to blatant targeting and harassment. Furious. I wish we had our money back...what a massive waste. The fact that we got treated like crap and they still got thousands from us disgusts me.
