Brilliant old coaching hotel in the heart of Dorchester. Modern bedrooms, well equipped, large comfortable beds, excellent breakfast! Staff were friendly and helpful. We loved it! Definitely returning! Free parking at the rear of the hotel too!

Superb service. Ten days ago I left a loved fleece on the back of a chair in the hotel garden. It was of sentimental value and I rang to ask if it had been found, which fortunately, it had. I was on the last day of my holiday and was unable to return to collect it. They have very kindly posted it back to me free of charge even though I was happy to pay for postage. This went above and beyond my expectations, and I would like to thank Corrine and Sophie for their kindness in getting this resolved as I have received it today

I booked breakfast for a friend and I - we weren’t staying in the hotel, but we are local and know it well. We sat in the bar and after approx 10 minutes I got up and asked if we could order breakfast. I chose the French toast ( which is amazing) but was told that it wasn’t available and my friend chose porridge and when it arrived you were out of banana chips. I then asked for a croissant - the only one available was a pain au chocolate. If you’re serious about offering breakfast, especially a relatively few options ( no problem with that at all), you need to be able to meet need. The ingredients for the dishes we wanted were not unusual or difficult to source. You also need to acknowledge guests more quickly, and clear used dishes more quickly than the 15 minutes it took. It wasn’t busy. It is a beautiful hotel, and I’ve eaten here on numerous occasions with my family. Service today did not meet the standard that I’m sure you expect to deliver. I rarely write reviews but felt you should know the impact of what might appear to be unimportant or insignificant issues.
