The Kings Head

Set quietly opposite a church within a neat looking village, the Kings Head provided us with a lovely stay. Freshly refurbished throughout, we enjoyed nice drinks and views in the pub lounge, a great dinner and breakfast in the separate dining room and a quiet and comfortable rest in our lovely looking, plush and thoughtfully furnished, en-suite room. Met and escorted by the friendly and helpful owner, we entered our room to the accompaniment of some lovely ambient classical music, coming from the stylish looking radio, next to which was water in equally stylish looking bottles. The bathroom was large and very well appointed, with all the facilities one could wish for, including that which is rarely seen in most hotel bathrooms - plenty of spare usable shelf space. The food on offer for dinner and breakfast was also suitably appealing and innovative, well presented and very tasty. We seldom write reviews for places we stay at and would have no hesitation to return to this thoroughly pleasant establishment, which is clearly run with thought, care and attention to detail.

We have stayed at the King’s Head 4-5 times over the last three years while visiting our family who moved to Hursley. The renovation and update of King’s Head was much needed. My wife and I were some of the first people to stay at the newly renovated property a few weeks ago. We loved the room and bathroom updates. The restaurant/pub areas were refreshing, clean, and efficient. Martin, Lisa, and staff have done a great job to make the renovation transition as smooth as possible. Can’t wait to come back!

Unbelievable transformation from before. Don’t hesitate to come! Lovely vibes, great beer garden, good food and well priced drinks. The owners really care and it shows! One point for improvement… we would love to see proper cloth napkins in the restaurant rather than paper (keep those for the bar and outside) :)
