Enjoyed our stay here, spacious rooms, clean and well kept grounds. As a beginner skier, appreciated the variety of green slopes with plenty of space, but the snow was a bit slushy by the end of the day due to warmer than usual temperatures. We did not dine in the restaurants due to reports of over-priced/mediocre food, would give more stars if easy access to cheaper/better reviewed food was available.
The atmosphere is great and it has beautiful nature surrounding. Staffs provide warm hospitality and were helpful. Food was great and parking was convenient. I enjoyed the environment and hot onsen. However, I might have visited in the wrong season where most of the activities were not available (Oct15-17). Everything was closed. I can not find any where to eat but the convenient store at the back where I had cup noodles. Only one restaurant were open at the lobby and we drove to the Sheraton nearby to find that no other restaurants or shops were open as well. I feel you need to provide information on the website regarding the best time to visit or store operating hours on the website. I had to find out on spot that most of the activities and restaurants were closed and that there's only cup noodles for me. Other than that, I love the atmosphere and nature surrounding this place. Love the hospitality received and hoped to visit there again.
Considering there’s really no better options, the resort is fine. Rooms are clean and large and it’s easy enough to get to Kiroro to ski. The main downside is the quality of the restaurants (for the price). The quality is just OK but for the prices it should be *excellent*. Service also isn’t great even though it’s the middle of the week and not busy at all. Note that you’ll want to make dinner reservations via Open Table before you arrive because without reservations none of the restaurants will seat you, even if they are empty. The best of the resort restaurants we went to was the charcoal grill - it actually seemed worth the price.
