The Kontiki

The property is absolutely gorgeous. Every walkway is filled with lush scenery helping you stay cool as you walk to the nearby beach. The greenery also provides a sense of privacy while you are out on the balcony. It is only about a 10-15 minute drive to the bridge. The pools are beautiful and clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Curacao.

The Kontiki is a beatiful green resort, and we appreciated our stay there. It’s right next to Mambo Beach with their own beach clubs which is easy and comfortable with plenty of beds (June). Beach service is great too. The rooms are spacious but not very modern or clean. The bathroom/shower quickly becomes incredibly humid and is moldy. The rooms are also very noisy and you can clearly hear neighbors. The rooms have a nice balcony, although the two seats it had had pillows that were worn very thin. Aircon worked well! The resort itself is nice and easy to navigate, easy to park a rental car (recommended!). The pools aren’t used a lot as the beach is so close. You’re quite constrained to the mambo beach area (which is very touristy) if you don’t have a vehicle or pay for (expensive) taxi’s. Staff js very nice and attentive and quick to respond over their whatsapp service as well.

Hotel quality is not anymore what it was a few years ago. The tropical superior rooms are outdated: There are big gaps in the walls to outside, the toilet is not attached well the the floor and tilts when you sit on it. Also the bed has seen better times: The frame is clearly damaged. The gardens still look nice and location near Mambo beach is great. Pools look also nice but are not always clean. If you come to this hotel I definitely suggest to avoid the tropical superior rooms.
