The Lake Country House Hotel & Spa

We were given a gift voucher for dinner, bed and breakfast along with use of the spa. We stayed one night and it was wonderful! The four course dinner was immaculate and the service throughout was spot on. The rooms were clean and well furnished and the beds were very comfortable! We slept very well. We walked the grounds and found them pretty and peaceful. We only used the spa briefly the morning we left but it was also lovely. Overall great place, we wished we could have stayed longer

What an incredible place! The staff are fantastic, really friendly and accommodating. The spa is lovely, not crowded and very relaxing, I had a facial and it was bliss, Amy was excellent. It's also great that you have unlimited spa access included in the price of your room. The food was fabulous, I've been to other spa hotels where the breakfast feels like a bit of an after thought and looks like it was mainly bought in from Costco but not here, so much choice and everything on the cooked menu was cooked beautifully. Then onto the main event... Dinner, what can I say, it was well worth the money, I was sad to only be staying 2 nights as I wanted to try everything (blessing for my waistline though). My husband and I ordered different meals and shared so we could try more things and nothing disappointed, every mouthful was delicious. Even the cocktails were the best I've had, I love an espresso martini but often find they're ruined with too much sugar syrup but they were perfect. The room was lovely, really like the fact you have a separate living space even in just the double room, beds were comfy and the views across the grounds were lovely, I Knocked one star off the room because it was a little bit tired, the shower fittings were a bit wangy, one of the blinds was a bit broken but over all it was lovely, would only have knocked half a star off of that was an option. And last but by no means least, the setting, the grounds to this place are out of this world, you have a lake with ducklings that you can watch from the hot tub, a woodland you can walk around that takes you back to the hotel along a river, it's so beautiful and peaceful, all you can hear is birdsong. We can't wait to come back, such a special place.

Second visit and it will not be the last. Extremely welcoming and friendly atmosphere, gorgeous surroundings both indoors and out. Amazing food both at breakfast and dinner. The morning briefing about weather and suggestions about a daily itinerary are a lovely touch. The only place I have stayed where a member of the cleaning staff has spontaneously offered to help with my luggage and then wished me a safe journey. Everyone working at this place is a credit to the hotel. Thank you.
