The Landing Resort & Spa

My wife and I spent three wonderful nights at The Landing Tahoe Resort & Spa in May and couldn't have been happier. Our room had a spectacular view of the lake and mountains. The hotel's location makes it easy access to town and local sites. The staff was always available and happy to take care of every request we had. From the extra towels, adjustment of our fireplace setting to the delicious breakfast(s) and complementary shuttle service to town. We truly relaxed and felt pampered during our visit. If you are looking for excellent accommodations in South Lake Tahoe then look no further than The Landing Tahoe Resort & Spa.

The location is great. Right in front of the lake. They give you a pass to enter it as it is private beach with a person monitoring the gate entrance. It’s also walking to downtown full of shops, restaurants and casinos. The room we stayed in was small and we encountered an issue but when we expressed this concern to the manager Charles R. he was super nice, attentive and customer service oriented. He resolved our concern and we are very happy about our stay there. They have a gym which I used and had a great workout. A heated pool in which I enjoyed a relaxing swim. Jimmy’s restaurant on site was delicious. The front office staff is friendly and they have a van that will drive you within a 2 mile radius for free. The drivers were all very friendly and prompt when we requested a ride.

Definitely Not a 5-Star Hotel – Disappointing Stay We booked one of the most expensive rooms at The Landing Tahoe Resort & Spa based on the photos and description online, but the reality was very underwhelming. The room was noticeably smaller than shown in the pictures, and overall did not match the 5-star standard. The staff was not friendly or welcoming — quite the opposite, they acted distant and cold. It honestly felt like we were being treated differently, possibly because we’re not American. The bathrobe in the room was old and in terrible condition, and there was thick dust on the furniture — you could literally wipe it off with a finger. We have photos to prove it. The breakfast was another disappointment. The online reviews were definitely exaggerated. It was very basic, and again, the staff made us feel like we were just being rushed out. This is not a terrible hotel, but calling it a 5-star resort is very misleading. At best, I would rate it 3 stars — more realistically, just 2.
