We had a really lovely stay! We were here for 3 nights in February for a girls trip, visiting from NYC and Pennsylvania, and I would stay here again if we came back to St Louis. The rooms were clean & spacious, the building is so unique, historic and gorgeous, and the staff were all friendly and more than helpful. We used the valet quite a bit, although we had no trouble finding street parking when we did it on our own. The bathrooms were spacious and the shower had good pressure (so important!). To know if you’re staying here- there is a mini cafe for snacks, but the hotel bar and restaurant is closed for a bit. It’s a quieter area but there’s still coffee shops and restaurants in walking distance, although we did drive to most places because we chose things a little farther away. There is a night club behind the hotel so if you’re a light sleeper, on Friday and Saturday nights when the club shuts down you may need to use the earplugs the hotel provides in the room. There is a hotel gym that I used once, it could be stocked better with water, wipes and towels- so consider bringing your own.

Listen to the reviews that say housekeeping does not come. Stayed here in December and had to call several times to make housekeeping aware that the room needed cleaning. It got to a point where the hotel manager, Marvin, contacted them directly and they still did not show up. Security were asked by the manager to drop off towels instead, which did not assist in the fact that the room itself needed to be cleaned after staying there for a few days. The towels did not arrive either. The room itself was clean on arrival and by the time of my departure the manager offered to issue a refund of one night’s stay for the trouble and he was aware that I booked the room via third-party. However, Agoda reached out to them to confirm this information and I was told the hotel was not aware of this and would not be rectifying the situation. The location did offer the convenience of being in a walkable area but it may not appear as the safest for all tourists. Lastly, the rooftop bar has been closed for months and the restaurant appeared to be closed during my stay as well. While it was not an issue, this information should be made available prior to checking-in for the guests that would likely be expecting access to these amenities. Not sure I would recommend this place or return again.

Absolutely dreadful. This hotel was an unmitigated disaster. Avoid this filthy, pest-ridden establishment at all costs. I'm compelled to warn anyone considering staying here: this place is a cesspool. The room was a biohazard. Grime coated every surface. Not just dust, but thick, revolting layers of filth caked onto the walls, the threadbare carpet, the dilapidated furniture, the stained curtains, and the corroded fixtures. The photos don't even capture the true horror; what looks grey is actually a once-white wall, now blackened with accumulated dirt. The air was thick with allergens and noxious particles. The curtains were streaked with grime from rubbing against the putrid wall. The furniture was sticky and coated in a repugnant layer of dust. The carpet was a breeding ground for bacteria, littered with disgusting debris, including a discarded, yellowed fingernail. Every breath we took was a struggle, and we were immediately plagued by severe congestion and sickness. We were forced to buy overpriced, ineffective medication from a local pharmacy, but the damage was irreversible. For an excruciating 18 hours, starting at 10 am, a piercing, ear-splitting siren blared incessantly throughout the hotel. It was a torture device, a relentless assault on our eardrums. We tried to drown it out with the TV, but even the deafening roar of the broken, inefficient AC unit couldn't mask the agonizing noise. Sleep was impossible, a cruel joke. We begged for the room to be cleaned, pleading with the incompetent front office manager, who deserves nothing but contempt. I politely detailed the appalling conditions, knowing the front desk isn't responsible for the squalor, but he feigned concern and promised a deep cleaning. We returned at 5 pm to find the room untouched, a stagnant pit of filth. We called again, and the front office manager lied, promising immediate action. Of course, no one came. Three hours later, a bewildered laundry worker arrived with towels, laughing at our request for cleaning. It was nearly 9 pm, and we were exhausted, sick, and trapped in this hellhole. The ultimate betrayal came later. The deceitful front office manager, gave us his business card, then shamelessly denied ever speaking to us to Expedia. When Expedia contacted the hotel, he claimed we never complained or provided feedback on the room. He even had the audacity to say he would have moved us if we had! What a pathetic, bold-faced lie. I have his card, a tangible reminder of his dishonesty. I even remembered details of our conversation around his glasses and the convention we were attending, proving he was lying. The hotel's offer of a single night's refund was an insult. They refused to clean the room or relocate us, opting instead for a cheap, inadequate gesture. This hotel is a den of liars and a breeding ground for disease. Stay away, for your own sanity and health. This is my 8th consecutive year visiting St. Louis. The Last Hotel will not receive future business from me.
