The Lead Hotel

We spent our 20th anniversary at The Lead. We have been in Sierra Leone for ten years now and this was the best hotel experience we have ever had. The service was excellent. They gave us space to relax but we're eager to accommodate our needs. The rooms were clean and spacious. The beds were surprisingly comfortable and we slept great! The food was wonderful, the pool was clean and inviting and the environment was well thought out and beautiful. Best hotel in Sierra Leone and worth the visit.

I recently stayed at a beautiful boutique hotel by the coast, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel truly welcome with thoughtful touches like a cool towel and refreshing juice. The room was spacious, spotless, and offered a breathtaking view of the ocean through floor-to-ceiling windows. I especially loved relaxing by the infinity pool and dining at the rooftop restaurant — the seafood pasta was a highlight! The overall atmosphere was peaceful and luxurious. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway with top-notch service and stunning views, this hotel is a fantastic choice.

The hard product of The Lead Hotel is unrivalled in Sierra Leone. Without doubt the best-designed, best-built hotel in the country! We stayed twice, for a total of 5 days in April 2025. The soft product (i.e. service) is a work-in-progress and I believe that as time goes on, it will be able to match the levels of excellence as seen in its hard product. Having had lengthy conversations with the manager, their commitment to improvement is clear. The place feels like you're in a 5* hotel in Greece. The rooms are so comfortable and well-kitted out, with amazing views across the bay. The location is excellent - right at the end of Lumley Beach on Aberdeen Peninsula. Close to the action but quiet and peaceful. The restaurant serves up great food at reasonable prices, and the breakfast pastries feel like they've just been flown in from Paris on Air France this morning. Yum! The pool area is divine - clean and well-kept, plenty of comfortable sun loungers, beautiful foliage, and a large pool with a sea view! All of this is provided in a safe and very secure environment. I look forward to returning in the future!
