I been frequently to this hotel many times, and is usually for business. I love this hotel as the up keep and maintenance are very good despite it has been around for more than 10 years. Also, the staff are very pleasant and courteous. Very understanding and take an effort to make our stay memorable and pleasant. As I m a very light sleeper, every time I checked in, will request for the least busy floor and also corner room, which usually is acceded. Sound proofing seems good. The buffet breakfast is excellent with a very good variety sometimes putting similar or better hotels to shame.
To be honest, I’m very particular when it comes to hotels — and The Light Hotel truly stands out as my all-time favourite. The environment is beautiful, smells amazing, and feels so calm. The staff are friendly and always smiling, which made the stay even more pleasant. But most importantly, the room was spotless — no dust at all, which is crucial for me because my child has eczema and is very sensitive to dust. I’m genuinely satisfied with the cleanliness and comfort here. Plus, it’s easy to find food nearby and just a short walk to Sunway Mall.
While your establishment enjoys a commendable number of positive reviews and high ratings online, my firsthand experience raised concerns — particularly in the food and beverage department. The kitchen operations appeared inefficient, with noticeable delays in preparation and delivery. More critically, the kitchen and service staff displayed a lack of urgency and professionalism, which significantly impacted the overall guest experience. This is not in alignment with the expectations typically associated with a hotel of your category. From an operational standpoint, I recommend immediate attention to staff training, SOP enforcement, and supervisory presence during peak service periods. Guests today are discerning and compare service standards not only within Malaysia but globally — and consistency in execution is key to retaining loyalty and sustaining a strong brand reputation. I share this not as a complaint, but as a sincere observation from someone who values excellence in hospitality and wishes to see your hotel reach its full potential.
