Beautiful dog friendly pub with a stunning outdoors seating area prefect to enjoy the sunshine. Special thanks to Lottie who was very accommodating with the food order (Gluten free options are great here!) and also helped to provide us with information on fun and easy dog walking routes. Amazing service and incredible food!

We stopped by for a weekday lunch. The pub is full of character with plenty of interesting corners and atmosphere. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. The menu had a lovely selection for us, choosing a fish course and salad from the daily specials, which were both fresh and delicious.

I had dinner at the Lion Inn and was impressed by the food - it was more sophisticated than I expected for the setting. I ordered the chicken, mushroom, and gnocchi dish and it was really good - the chicken was perfectly cooked and I enjoyed the mushrooms, grilled corn, and sauce. It was also beautifully presented. If I were to nitpick, I’d say it needed a bit more sauce to go with the amount of chicken, and the gnocchi were a little dry - more of an air-fried potato ball than a true gnocchi. But my main issue was the portion size - the dish just wasn’t big enough for a meal. I ended up getting two sides to supplement - a Caesar salad and a mackerel and sourdough dish - and both were good. But the extra dishes also meant it was more expensive than I’d planned. I did enjoy the large outdoor patio and the servers were very nice.
