I stayed here as I was down for business and a friend lives in Blaenavon. A good pub with above average food and accommodation. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Plenty of people eating and drinking in the bar / restaurant...always a good sign. Breakfast is 0800 till 0900 but I needed to leave at 0730 that was no problem, tea coffee cereals were all out a bacon butty (ordered) was all packed to take. Thank you for a great stay

FOOD REVIEW ONLY. Booked here for lunch for pre-fathers day meal. They had a good sized separate vegan menu. Great selection and lovely to have more than one choice! I had the cauliflower wings to start, which were good. The the chickpea and sweetcorn fajita burger, which was also nice but a bit messy as the patty didn't hold its shape. For dessert i had the peanut sponge which was also good. My husband had the meat burger he enjoyed it and my daughter had the kids fish and chips which was a generous size, also enjoyed. They had highchairs for children. Over all nice place to eat with nice choices, I would return.

We spent three nights here in June to visit the Brecon beacons. The breakfast was good, they offer a variety of sweet and savoury options. We had a meal here the first night and it was also good. However the room was never cleaned. The second night I noticed it when I got back so I reported it to the person serving breakfast in the morning and we when returned it still was not done. I have never stayed in a hotel where the room is not cleaned on a daily basis. The service was quick and friendly however this is not very good. In terms of location, it is close to the heritage museum and the big pit which are both very nice.
