The Lion Waddesdon

Brilliant friendly local pub, plenty of parking around the back. You do need to enter your car registration into a tablet on arrival. Luckily the owner has made that very obvious, there is a big sign as you enter the pub from the rear (pic attached). And also a giant illuminated t night sign in the car park.

A most enjoyable stay .The food was very good and plentiful,( specials were particularly nice).The room was large and clean and serviced every day. The family made us feel very welcome and so did the locals!

No problems with this pub until they leased the car park. I used the machine to register my car, as I advised my my friend to do on his arrival. Still got a £100 fine. After querying this it turned out it was my own fault as I probably hadn't entered the number of days I was staying...... A little odd given we were just there for a quick catch up and off. Anyhoo, usual bumfluffery around not being able to dispute claim over the phone. I'd be interested to know what CE is paying the Red Lion for the lease. I hope it's enough to balance the loss of trade in the longer term. Short sighted in my view, but one way of keeping the price of a pint down for those who don't need the car to drink there...... Oh yes, for the avoidance of doubt I know its all my own fault..... I'll remember to give that same advice to anyone else caught out like me.....
