The view was astounding. The rooms were good, they matched the pictures, the lobby is calming and makes you feel like you are at home, there, the staff allows you to play board games there like chess that they provided. Breakfast is very rich and it’s homemade. The village the hotel is located in is beautiful, it has a lot of shops, such as restaurants, cafés, souvenir shops, bakeries and so much more. The best thing; the staff. Extremely friendly and welcoming. The only problems is that there is no ac, and it gets very hot in the summer, the parking is hard to find and the Wi-Fi doesn’t work :(
Honest review follows: We've booked our stay almost 2 months in advance. Therefore, only 8 days before our holiday they've cancelled our booking!! We've been told that the hotel will remain closed, and that the owner sold the buissness. As a result we got very upset, as we couldn't find any other alternative hotels for our stay; thus, inevitably we had to cancel our trip to Portaria. The worst part of our tremendous experience was that we had to chace them for over 3 weeks to get our deposit back, which finaly got back just before we were about to consult the hellenic police for some guidance.. It was a nightmare basically.
Extremely hot inside, no air conditioner. My Fitbit Sense sais I had +3.1 degree Celsius (versus my baseline) core temperature at peaks. This means 39 degree Celsius. This can be harmful for your health. The view is very nice though.
