Decent rooms and breakfast buffet, good location within a national park. Only around half the staff speak a moderate level of english so can be a little difficult to communicate at times. Lack of maintenance on parts of the deck, should be fixed for guest safety. The most disappointing part of our stay is we were never informed of the free shuttle bus, we caught the train both ways. I even enquired about catching the ferry back and the free shuttle bus was never mentioned, given we are travelling with a baby this is a huge oversight by the staff and resort. We only became aware of as we saw it drive past as we are walking to the train station with heavy luggage...

hotel facilities are a bit old, but room is okay. i did not have the opportunity to try their breakfast buffet, but they have a range of activities e.g. group meditation, yoga etc. for those who wish to relax. electric scooters and bikes are also available. the resort is in close proximity to a aquarium, as well as a sprawling seaside/harbourfront park. do not expect much from the onsen, as it is small and seems to be just a hot tub of water instead of a traditional onsen. the pool was one of the main attractive points of the hotel, but it was disappointing to find out that it was closed and would not be opened until July. it is also in the middle of nowhere, so the location is not ideal if you do not have a car. however, the decor is quite nice and is reminiscent of resorts/villas in Thailand. it does not really rise up to what is expected of a 4 star hotel, but okay if you are here for a longer stay and purely wish to stay within the perimeters of the resort. p.s. pls add notepads to the guest rooms as they are a staple amenity.

Classic example of a large hotel charging more but offering less. 4pm check in is so unhelpful when the pool is only for kids until 5 and then it's a few people wasting time taking Instagram photos until 10. Food is incredibly overpriced compared to the city and mostly odd Japanese versions of western stuff. Far too many silly rules and making things less fun. Set times for breakfast, no jumping in the pool, close for an hour between 5-6, no explanation for any of the activities or services and trying to charge extra for anything extra like using the table tennis. Beach is unusable and dirty. I wish we hadn't booked so I'd avoid this place, especially for the price.
