we had a great stay here - the staff is very accomodating and well organized. they shipped the luggage from tokyo straight in our room before checkin without us needing to carry it to the accomodation or to our room even - super easy check in/check out - beautiful common lounge with books and useful sharable things like shoe drier - two types of pillows: hard and soft to accomodate to every prefference - some notes: since the machia has thin walls it would be great for earplugs to be provided(we had no issue with noise though), the bathroom door should be changed to a sliding one since the space is small, the light in the room entry is a bit dim making it hard to see your clothes on the shelves

The room is beautiful, well equipped, and clean. A great place to stay if you want to enjoy a more traditional location to sleep. Just be warned that the accommodation is more a BnB than a hotel as it does not provide for a constant staff on site(you have only access to a phone to reach them. The location of place while central to Kyoto and relatively well connected to metro and bus remain a bit far away from the main tourist attractions

Given the photos you may think this is akin to a ryokan, but no, just a simple small hotel. A simple room, bath/shower, no staff on site, and no other facilities. Not bad by any means, but for the price you could stay in any three star hotel for half the price and have the same experience but with more on site facilities. The area was residential and quiet which was nice. I wouldn’t recommend, and would advise a cheaper stay in a larger hotel
