Had a truly relaxing stay at The Magellan Sutera Resort. I stayed in the Horizon Room, which was spacious, clean, and came with some nice added perks. Breakfast at 5 Sails was amazing. Great variety and everything tasted fresh. I really loved the ambiance and the friendly service. Also had dinner at Alfresco. Beautiful seaside setting with great selection of dishes. The sunset view made it extra special. Overall, a wonderful experience. Would definitely come back!
Gorgeous hotel, love the views, the facilities, the pool. Rooms are clean, well maintained where we were. Housekeeping was super efficient. People I meet in the hallways were excellent and friendly. Breakfast as so so, it’s not bad, but also not something to rush for, weirdly they can’t really cook soft boiled eggs. Staff are busy, makes me wonder if they have enough.reception. This was weird, felt very impersonal, like I’m just some product being pushed thru. I checked in early, room wasn’t ready, I can understand that, but I was just told come back later, felt like I was just in their way and they had better things to do. But other than that hotel was great. We will be back.
The check in service is appalling. We waited half an hour where there were two queues. This meant that if you were in a slower queue, you'd have some others be served before you as their line was faster. I think having one queue and filtering into a free front of house staff member would've been better. Also, not enough desks for the number of people checking in. We checked in 30 minutes before the three o'clock time and was told to come back for our keys after signing the paperwork but the queues had built up even more when we returned! We had asked if we could just take our keys earlier but head to the room at 3pm but this wasn't an option. This therefore doesn't help the queue if a party has to queue twice even though that party had the initiative to not make a mad rush for the check in. The staff were polite and it wasn't their fault but better managing was needed. There were other staff behind the desk that walked past but didn't try and support the desk staff members. Room is lovely, very clean, big (we got a twin room). Can see the sea in a certain position on the veranda. The waitress that served us at Tarik was very helpful. And although we weren't told where to go for our rooms (the staff were clearly too busy) , as we walked along, the porter approached us to help direct us to our room. I suspect we will enjoy the resort and facilities but the experience has started off very badly unfortunately.
