The property is beautifully designed, with a distinct African and Swahili aesthetic that immediately grounds you in the culture and rhythm of the coast. The service throughout my stay was excellent—warm, attentive, and consistent without being overbearing. My room was spacious, comfortable, and spotless, offering the perfect space to unwind after a long day. One of the highlights for me was the view. Whether it was watching the dhow boats from the beach or enjoying a quiet breakfast overlooking the water, the scenery was consistently breathtaking. If you’re looking for a serene getaway with authentic character and top-notch service, The Majlis delivers. I left feeling rested and well taken care of—and will definitely return.

Great holiday spot with easy access to Lamu town and Shela. They have awesome people who are always there to make your stay memorable and address any issues. Special mention to Florence, Valary and Winnie who went over and above to take care of us especially our 8 year old daughter. They also have very good food especially at the Mediterranean restaurant. The service was excellent! Highly recommended!
