I have never stayed in a hotel room with two bathrooms that is a selling feature in its own. Service was excellent, the bellhop was amazing we loved him. Valet parking took the stress out of driving in New York. They have a club room upstairs where you can get food and drinks. The location is walkable to times square and the park or a Broadway show. It's actually the best shower I've ever had in a hotel. It's not modern it's more of that old luxury feeling. I would 100% stay again especially if we were there for more than one night it would be enjoyable to spend some down time in the room if needed or the club room or the penthouse has a beautiful balcony with views of the city.
We stayed in a one-bedroom unit on the second floor. We arrived very late - after midnight and were completely exhausted. Otherwise, I would have definitely asked to change rooms. Issues we experienced during our stay: 1.Lack of preparation: Before our arrival, I requested an extra bedding set, as I would be sharing the sofa bed with my child. The hotel replied, “We will note the reservation with your requests.” Unfortunately, nothing was prepared. I had to call room service at 1 a.m., and we waited 40 minutes for the bedding to arrive, while already exhausted and just wanting to sleep. 2.Air conditioning: The air conditioning unit had no switch or control panel for adjusting the temperature, so we were stuck with the default setting, which was not comfortable. 3.TV issues: The television was not working at all during our stay. 4.Hair dryer problem: Out of three hair dryers, only one was working. We asked housekeeping to bring at least one functioning dryer. They took the broken one but never returned with a replacement. 5.Missing amenities: We didn’t have all the facilities in the room as listed at the time of booking. A few advertised features were simply not there. 6.View & room description: The room itself was okay in terms of cleanliness and layout. However, we had zero view half of the window was covered with a protective film, and the other half faced a wall and the roof over the hotel entrance. I wish this had been disclosed during booking. 7.Misleading photos: Besides all that, the room in reality did not correspond to the pictures shown on the app. It felt darker, smaller, and less inviting than advertised. Positives: 1.The location is excellent—convenient and central. 2.The staff were friendly and polite throughout our stay.
The only good thing about this hotel is the location, very close to everything, central park, times square and restaurants. The place is old. Rooms are really old. Like, “someone please call in a renovation team and a time machine” old. The room welcomed us with the charming aroma of weed, in a non-smoking room. Not sure how that works, maybe it’s part of the “vintage” vibe? We had booked a one-bedroom apartment for our family and asked for an extra duvet for the kids. Room service eventually brought one over… with the energy of someone doing us a huge personal favor and with very bad smell on it . Thank you, noble heroes. We didn’t even bother trying out the facilities, if they’re anything like the room, we figured we’d just be disappointed in a different setting. Come for the location, stay for the… well, hopefully just one night.
