This was the highlight of our visit to Vancouver Island. We had planned on doing more sightseeing the day we stayed here. Instead we decided to just sit on the balcony and enjoy watching the boats come and go. We had the Presidential with the full kitchen and washer and dryer. So doing out laundry was a perfect excuse to relax for the afternoon. We had a memorable dinner at the restaurant right by the marina. The next morning we were up early to catch the ferry. It was just a short distant down the road. Another plus was the secure parking in the garage under the hotel.
Was a pretty good visit. They actually updated the entertainment system the same day we checked in. Huge 65” TV, played our favourite music stations the whole stay. Air conditioners were okay, incredibly noisy and almost unusable at night. The toiletries were kept up but the white tiles always appeared to be dirty with dark spots. They are selling the waterfront view, which is fine from the balcony, but the glass could use a serious windex, same with the glass windows on the balcony. The view isn’t great when sitting but is fine when standing. The View restaurant and David Charles Yacht club seemed to always be hosting large events on the rooftop patio which were kind of loud so not ideal for families with kids. The interior is very modern is some places but there’s the occasional outdated fixture or kind of sub par element. The wifi was good. It was individual to the room more like a condo and less like a hotel. As others have mentioned the walls are paper thin, luckily I’m not as impressionable, lol. The parking setup was good. Lucky our SUV fit in the underground parking garage. They supplied an in car opener which made it very convenient. Overall an okay stay. Just a few things that weren’t ideal for paying $300/night
This was advertised as air conditioned. The temperature in our room was over 91 degrees. Their portable air conditioners don't work adequately. Room was dirty. No linens provided for third bed. Free parking is on street where signs say you can only park for four hours. Charged extra for underground parking. Hotel staff are only there for limited hours and don't call back when they say they will. Accidentally left a personal item in the room when I checked out and it wasn't returned.
