The Maritime Hotel

This is a nostalgic NYC hotel. The staff is wonderful, super knowledgeable, accommodating and warm. The rooms are comfortably worn but meticulously maintained. Beautiful stay - I highly recommend! Also, though I didn’t travel with my pup, they did let me know they welcome them which is always a huge bonus for me. I will be back.

I really enjoyed my stay here during my business trip. The room was nice and fairly spacious for NYC, I liked the classy wood paneling and lobby decor, and the bed was comfortable. I appreciated the continental breakfast that they provided. The street noise was a little much (there was jackhammering one night) but they provided little earplugs which helped in a pinch.

My stay was good, the staff is lovely (particularly Shannon) and the hotel is clean with charming boat vibes. The one downside for me, as someone who’s sensitive to strong scents & detergents, the bed linens are *extremely* scented here, which gets all over your body and whatever clothes you put on. The scent got trapped in my CPAP machine, which you can imagine was torture once I got home. I’m still smelling the scent days later. In the future, I might need to choose a hotel with unscented linens (which I find to be a more common practice anyway) to avoid dealing with this fact. I’m sharing this information in hopes of warning my fellow smell-sensitive folks. If smells don’t bother you, this is a good place to stay! (Also if you’re a light sleeper, request a window cushion if you stay on a lower floor to absorb the noise from Club Tao next door— or request a higher up room. The noise didn’t bother me because I wear earplugs, but it kept my partner up on both a weekend and weekday night. This hotel is in a great location so definitely consider it if smells & noise aren’t a problem for you!)
