Yes, I really gave it 5 stars! No, I'm not a Russian bot! If you book a room here thinking that you'll be staying at the Shangri-La Hotel you're going to be disappointed. I had no issues with my 2 night stay from check-in to check-out. Less than 30 minutes after I'd made the booking I received a call from the property manager confirming what time I'd be arriving. He said if the room was ready for check-in earlier they would message me. At 1:30pm I received all the access numbers I would need. I checked in at 2pm with no issues. I'd booked into the Queen Studio with Ensuite Bathroom and found it to be ready and clean for me, room was as in the the photos and it was super clean and the bed was super comfy. All linen and towels where clean and fresh. Not once did I ever feel unsafe during my stay, I only saw a handful of other guests during the 2 days i was here and they were family types. No junkies or homeless people as other reviewers have claimed. The only thing I would suggest is better outside lighting as once the pub shut it was pitch black. Speaking of the pub downstairs I never heard a sound from it even though I was there over the weekend. I purchased dinner on Saturday night and that was 10/10. so yeah, the foyer carpets need a good vacuum and a fresh coat of paint wouldn't hurt but that's not going to effect your stay
Will never stay here again!! Room wreaked of cigarette smoke. The fan and air condioner was on full when we arrived. Tried to make a complaint, was told that there was no manager available and to send an email. Really put a dampener on our night. Luckily it was only an overnight stay and was in a convenient location.
Everything was horrible. No staff around. Not to mention feeling unsafe due to front glass door not locking properly and having drugged up and drunk members of the public slamming doors and yelling and fighting all night. Police arrived twice in this one night. Absolutely appalling. Woke up the next day to blood and alcohol in the hallways. Was a sleepless night and “reception and organisers” not complying with refund. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
