The Martha Washington Inn & Spa

Although we had previously been to the Barter Theater across the street, this was our first time staying at The Martha Washington Inn. We had an exemplary time there. The room was nicely decorated with vintage furniture type pieces however with modern accommodations such as the climate control and shower area. Exploring the grounds is well worth the time and stop and talk to the people that work there. We spent awhile at breakfast with Karen (who had been there for well over 20 years and now only works 2 days a week in Sister's) after all the customers were gone, and had a remarkable time learning about the place and changes over the years!!! The location is perfect and there is many places to go within walking distance. Very friendly community and wonderful history.

Great one night stay at the Martha Washington with my family (including our pups). The rooms were spacious, beautifully appointed, and comfortable. The staff were all extremely welcoming and helpful throughout the stay. The complimentary breakfast was superb and the restaurant for dinner, while the menu is limited, was excellent. We enjoyed using the mini golf course and walking through the town of Abingdon. Should our travels take us through Abingdon again, we will be sure to return!

We ate at the Sisters Restaurant but we’re not staying at the Inn. The food was great, I ordered the burger and fries. Loved the burger, the fries not so much but everyone has their own favorite style of fries I guess. The restaurant was lovely and our server, Alicia, was fabulous. She was friendly and attentive and our orders were placed accurately. We enjoyed our visit to the Inn to eat dinner. Thanks Alicia!!
