This place was great! Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful even going out of their way to bring a trolley cart out and help us load it and bring it into the hotel. Everything was very clean and comfortable and very modern. This place is definitely more upscale and I can’t think of anything that they could improve on. Would stay again next time in town and would recommend to anyone.

We stayed at The Mayfair Christchurch for one night as the final stop of our trip. Our room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed, but the highlight was definitely the super comfortable bed and pillows, we slept so well! The only minor suggestion for improvement would be offering assistance with luggage unloading and bringing it up to the room as we had quite a bit to carry. That said, it didn’t detract much from our overall positive experience. Overall, The Mayfair is a fantastic choice for accommodation in Christchurch, great location, comfortable rooms, and fine service. We’d happily stay here again and highly recommend it to other travelers!

We had a rough start and I was incredibly tired and over the day after the long drive so not a great. They fixed it up and things went on normally for the remainder of the stay. I’m used to impressive hotels around the world and this place does a reasonably job but you have to put the boutique in there and then you appreciate the place for what it is. Rooms are nice and fresh and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was good Room amenities were good. The hotel has a modern feel and honestly they have gone more in the dark tones so it looks a bit like something out a Daniel Craig James Bond movie outside the room. I would likely stay there again as the location although a bit tight for parking on the street it’s not far from anything on foot. People were friendly. There was one red flag in which someone opened my door with I’m assuming another guest, that was not well received and I believe to be an isolated incident, considering I was on a conference call very bad. The difference between high class hotels and average is knowing when rooms are occupied and double checking everything is on the money. Overall it was fine and as I said likely stay there again. I note without asking the hotel made some thoughtful changes without me knowing, I did not expect it. It’s hard because the previous hotel was a fairly upmarket hotel and it was less relaxing than this one so I think this hotel will improve and this was isolated. Not the hotels problem but the horrible person that was next door drove me insane slamming every single door they opened. It’s good and I’d give it a go but it’s not a traditional 5 star so do not go in expecting the ritz it’s boutique and they mean it.
