The Mayflower Hotel Autograph Collection

I was last at this property when it was a Renaissance, probably about 25 years ago. This trip was outstanding! Such a beautiful and historic property! Check in was excellent and spot-on perfect! The person checking me in hit all the points and he was very helpful! He upgraded me to an executive king room. When I got to the room, I was amazed to see a wet bar as soon as I opened the door. Walking in, this was a very big room with a separate living room and separate bedroom. Very beautifully appointed too! In all, I enjoyed an excellent stay here!

The room was comfortable and the service, especially at Edgar, was excellent. I enjoyed my stay. However, the Mayflower Hotel has in recent years intentionally downgraded the experience for Marriott Bonvoy members as a cost-cutting measure and I don’t think I would stay here again as a result. I knew going in that the hotel had closed the Concierge Lounge during the pandemic and had never reopened it. However, I did not know that they recently reduced the food & beverage credit from $27 to $21, which is pretty outrageous considering that they have certainly increased prices on the menu over time. In the end, it’s not a big deal for me, but it does send the message that the hotel does not see any need to cater to people who have status. The Mayflower does plenty of business as a conference hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel! My mother is a vacation club owner and the 7th floor amenities for owners were great! The concierge were very kind and helpful. The ambiance is very nice too and the location is great. My only complaint is the valet contractor/ workers. They are very cold and rude, creating a tense atmosphere upon entering and checking in. If that is resolved, then this review would be five stars.
