The Mayflower

Gorgeous rooms: very comfortable and spacious. Lovely bathrooms with a freestanding bath as well as shower. Short walk to Lymington high street, and lots of free parking. Fantastic breakfast and service with a lot of variety. Pub part, is a typical pub but wasn’t loud at night. Well worth a stay.

Staff were excellent and very friendly. The room was OK (the duvet was too heavy for summer) with a good shower. The excellent location was very near the front (as we hoped for). The exterior of the hotel was in poor condition being in extreme need of repair and repainting. Food, especially breakfast, was very good.

We were visiting Lymington for the day and wanted a table for 11 people - kids included. This was perfect as it's just up the road from the harbour, so a 2 minute walk from the Sea Water Inflatables where we spent the morning. It's about a 10 minute walk to the main shopping road where they had a lovely market on the day we visited - not sure if it's there every Saturday but it was a great way to spend a day. The Mayflower is split into a classic pub front, and more of a restaurant vibe out the back (where we were seated) and then a lovely big pub garden with small and safe play area for young kids - including a little climbing wall. It has a classic pub menu - burgers, steak, fish and chips, ham and eggs, ploughman's, a kids menu, and a great selection of drinks. They had a good veggie/vegan option too. Nice clean toilets, some parking out the front (but also less than a minute drive to the main harbour carpark), friendly staff, reasonably priced, made an effort to accommodate us at relatively late notice in summer holidays. Would definitely recommend. Didn't take any pics, too busy enjoying the food!
