The perfect vibe for a special getaway! We picked The Mayson for our 23rd wedding anniversary and honestly, it’s been spot on so far. From the moment we walked through the door, the atmosphere just clicked—stylish, relaxed, and buzzing with energy. The decor is modern with a cool edge, but still warm and welcoming. It feels like a place that really knows who it is. Huge shout-out to the lady on reception who welcomed us—she was incredibly friendly, helpful and just set the tone for the whole experience. It’s not always the case in hotels, but here, we genuinely felt looked after from the very first interaction. Breakfast was tremendous. I had The Works, my wife had the Eggs Benedict—both absolutely hit the spot. Full bellies, satisfied appetites and that “mmm” moment after every bite. The coffee was on point too, and the breakfast venue itself was cozy, calm and just a really cool place to start the day. We haven’t even seen our room yet, but if it matches the vibe and quality we’ve experienced already, we’re in for a treat. We’ve only got two nights here and loads planned, but The Mayson already feels like the perfect base for our Dublin adventure. Highlights so far: the amazing receptionist, the breakfast, the vibe, and the location. Looking forward to discovering more!
This had been our first stay at the Mayson hotel. Both my wife and I were extremely impressed by the friendly welcome and excellent service offered by Amber and Benny. I struggle sleeping under heavy synthetic quilts. I asked Amber if it would be possible to provide something lighter and possible natural fibres, even if just another quilt cover. She kindly offered to talk to Benny her manager to see if this could be done. After returning from our day out in Dublin, a NEW throw had been provided to our room (still in shop wrapper)!! Amber told me that he had spent most of the afternoon trying to find a natural fibre blanket and eventually found the one provided to us. My slight embarrassment enquired why such effort; Amber replied Benny could not allow to provide something that was below standards and hence found the alternative. The design, decor and layout of the hotel is superb which we could not fault. The rooms although on the very small side, which is stated in the marketing info, is more than adequate when visiting Dublin. Both my wife and I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel. A big thank you to Amber, Benny and all the staff that made for a special visit to Dublin. John and Alison Room 411
We booked the Warehouse Penthouse specifically for the private hot tub on the balcony, which was the main selling point for us. On arrival, we were told it was out of use due to water issues in Dublin yet oddly, the copper bath could be filled and emptied as much as we liked. This just didn’t make sense and felt misleading. Had we known this in advance, we absolutely wouldn’t have paid nearly £2,000 for two nights. The stay was meant to be a 50th birthday surprise, so we chose not to make a scene, though we were only offered a free breakfast and a glass of fizz by way of compensation, which felt underwhelming given the circumstances. The location is okay but quite a walk from Temple Bar. The pool area is nice and breakfast was good although they forgot our order on the first morning, even though it was offered as an apology for the hot tub not being available. Service-wise, it was hit and miss. Despite the “please make up the room” sign being on the door from 8am, by 3pm we still had no fresh towels and had to go ask for housekeeping. The in-room phone didn’t work, and when we tried to call reception, no one answered. At checkout, I mentioned that the room’s key card holder (which controls the electricity) wasn’t working. I was told they were already aware of the issue and were “waiting on maintenance” — yet nothing had been done during our stay. For the price and expectations, this felt like a real letdown. Wouldn’t return.
