Beautiful inside, well-kept, clean. Room and general accommodations were very nice. Tomi, the innkeeper is EXCELLENT. Very efficient at what she does, and seems to anticipate & accommodate needs proactively. Attentive and provides a GREAT customer experience. We stayed in the loft. Which was clean and perfect for our party. Breakfast is well worth stopping in for, even if you're not staying at the inn. The drive isn't far to get to centralized urban destinations & shops, if needed. VERY HIGHLY recommend. We will definitely go back again and again.
Given the elegant website and good reviews, this hotel was a disappointment. The rooms were pleasant but by no means luxurious. Our stay was overpriced considering how outdated the facilities were. We had a room in the main house and one in the carriage house. The carriage house, although more expensive, was more rundown. We especially didn't appreciate the gravel/mud approach to the stairs. Breakfast was also disappointing. The portions were comically small and of poor quality.
My wife and I stayed here for Valentine’s weekend and overall did not leave with a favorable impression. The staff was gracious and seemed to make every effort possible to accommodate, yet the place still felt empty and slightly overpriced. My biggest concern is that they have limited electrical capacity which is easily overloaded, and the power went out twice in our room during our stay. Since the staff leaves at 9:00 PM, we were on our own to find the fuse box and flip the breakers. The mansion itself is grand and well-decorated with high-vaulted ceilings and majestic fireplaces, but the rooms are lacking many amenities like central heat/AC, a television, or basic counter space. The walls were also paper-thin so you will absolutely hear conversations in the adjacent rooms. I think there was a missed opportunity to enhance the common spaces like the downstairs game room and two lavish living rooms with some music and actually lighting the fireplaces. Those would have given it a more grand and noble feeling.
