The Merchant Hotel

I loved it. We had everything at hand in the newly renovated apartment - a nice sitting room, a well-furnished kitchen with the necessary utensils, refrigerator, stove, microwave, laundry, which made it quite a cheap trip. The subway is very close to the hotel (7 minutes walking). I recommend it.

The photos make the place look so much better than what it is. For the price is really not worth it. Staying in a backpacker is cleaner than this place. The shower was not cleaned, it had hair from people before, the floor was so dirty, the kitchen wasn't even wiped, the washing machine was also dirty. And I didn't use it otherwise I had to spend more time cleaning what I already had to. The beds are put together horizontally, so it's not really a double size comfortable bed. I ended up separating them. My door was open one of the days when I arrived and made me feel really unsafe. The place is dirty, and even the elevator smells like food and cigarettes. The one thing good is location. But that makes it not quite at all. Is in a really busy road. Sadly, it wasn't a good experience at all, and I wish I had booked in another place. Definitely, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Spent 3 months at this well-located hotel, close to public transport, but was really let down by the dirty room and misleading staff. The room was stained and dusty, and when I complained, they said all rooms were like that. Adjusted my expectations, but felt ripped off when charged 420 AUD for deep cleaning at checkout, especially after being told the cleanliness was as good as it gets. Left feeling cheated and would warn others to think twice about a long stay here.
