The Merrion

Excellent. Consistent. Warm, homely and hugely professional. It's as good as it always was from day 1. The new extension and the extended Garden Room with the Cabanas ...Just heavenly. Oh, the food, amazing, everything about the food is superb. We had a delightful lunch. We haven't stayed there in an age, mainly now because we have a little dog and The Merrion isn't pet friendly...that's a pity. Congratulations to everyone involved. And we see that the wonderful Art Collection is being added to all the time.

We really loved our stay at The Merrion. It was comfortable and had a special feel to it. The room wasn’t huge, but it was cozy. The food was really tasty and the service in the restaurant was top-notch: professional and attentive. There were just a couple of things: Underground parking. It’s quite small and tight, and doesn’t feel very well looked after. Staff are coming and going through it, so it feels more like a utility area than proper guest parking. For a hotel of this standard, I think they could do better. Housekeeping. This was a bit surprising. The staff were very chatty, asking personal questions and even commenting on guests’ belongings. It didn’t feel appropriate, and definitely not what you'd expect from a five-star hotel.

Every detail was considered—luxurious linens, a beautifully designed bathroom, and quiet, peaceful surroundings perfect for restful nights after busy days exploring the city. The charming courtyard garden provided a lovely, serene spot to unwind as a family. The breakfast selection was a highlight—fresh, plentiful, and beautifully prepared each morning. The location is ideal—just a short walk to St. Stephen’s Green, Grafton Street, and several museums and galleries. Yet despite being in the heart of Dublin, the hotel itself felt calm, safe, and tucked away like a well-kept secret. The Merrion blends timeless elegance with heartfelt hospitality. It’s rare to find a luxury hotel that caters so effortlessly to both adults and children, and we left feeling truly cared for. We can’t wait to return—The Merrion is now our go-to home in Dublin.
