The Millstone Mellor

We found this hotel on google maps, as we were attending a funeral in Blackburn and needed somewhere to stay. We didn't fancy a Premier Inn etc. My mum and I had a room each, including breakfast, for £230 total. Which we thought was great value! We arrived, checked in, and our rooms were in a different building across the small car park which was fine with us. We then ate in their restaurant. It was amazing quality food, served by very experienced staff wearing white gloves when bringing food out. Breakfast was equally delicious - a buffet table of fruit/toast/yoghurt/cereals, and then we could choose hot food from the menu - we both had a full English breakfast. It was all yummy! We would definitely stay again if we were in the area, it is situated in a lovely quiet village next door to a lovely church.

We stayed just for one night and were upgraded to a suite which was a lovely surprised. The rooms and bathroom were beautifully fitted out. Water and tea and coffee provided. Staff were helpful - the night manager went to great lengths to try to find me a nail file! breakfast was delicious.

Went for a small family wedding meal. We stood waiting at the bar for a good 10 minutes while the guy at the bar completely ignored us. We had someone with us who normally uses a wheelchair so it was very difficult for them. Once we were seated, service was much better. Food was very good and plenty of it. Took a star off because of the guy at the bar when we came in. The wedding meal was pre booked so I would have expected singsong would attend to us quickly. Couldn't really see anyone else in the restaurant at the time other than the person he was serving at the bar.
