The Milner York

Have just arrived home following a very enjoyable visit to York and a three day stay at the Milner. The hotel is superb, so close to the railway station. I have limited mobility, so it was perfect. Also, a very handy bus stop for the “Hop on & Off” bus service outside the front door!! In the hotel, our twin room was perfect. All the facilities you would expect and very clean. The breakfast was excellent, a good choice of hot food which I saw being replenished efficiently.Plenty cereals, fruit, yogurt, pastries, toast, teas & coffee. The dining room staff were polite & welcoming. In general all the staff were brilliant. Must mention in particular JAMES O. He was so friendly, cheerful, efficient and thoughtful. He was kind enough to escort me with my luggage from the Garden Room out to the pavement entrance of the Station when I was checked out A real gentleman, “Thank you James” My trip to York was so enjoyable, I met up with a great friend and we had a lovely break together. Stayed here twice, and it's a lovely hotel. Spacious rooms and bathrooms. Staff are great, so is the breakfast. Best flat iron steak we've ever had. The lounge is lovely just to sit in and have coffee or whatever. Really nice gardens and parking right outside. We can't think of a single negative.

We had a pretty decent stay here, it’s a very big hotel with a nice lobby and entrance. Our room was in the basement floor, it was a good room just felt a little empty and under furnished. There was also a delay in getting our room at the 3pm check in time of about an hour, the staff were all very helpful and gave us vouchers to have a drink while we waited. It does have an amazing location, it’s a great one night stay with its proximity to the train.
