The Milo

Stayed in a newly renovated double queen room overlooking the garden. Very cute room and bathroom. The location is perfect. Check-in staff and valet were all super nice and helpful. I could not decide between here and a few other places and amvery happy to have chosen Hotel Milo. They also let us use the. Boogie boards, beach towels, beach chairs and umbrella prior to our check in time and we were able to check in early after our beach day.

This hotel is right across the street from the beach and walkable to the downtown area with lots of choices to eat and shop nearby! To sum it up, you're basically paying for the location. The rooms are okay, but for the price, it doesn't fully equate. I stayed in one of the refurbished rooms, parking lot view :(. It was mostly quiet though. The decor was cute but the room was very small with just one small chair and a tiny table. The bathroom was small as well with a very French-sized shower. The air conditioning/heater was really loud when on. The ceiling fan looked like it had not been dusted in a while, there was a spider hanging out just above the corner of the window on day 1 and a web or dust string hanging on the top hinge of the bathroom door. They need to clean these areas better. It wasn't like gross dirty but just seemed to lack attention around those areas. While you have to pay $32 or so dollars a night (on top of the room fee) to park your car there, I will say the valet guys were super friendly and went above and beyond, even outshining the front desk folks :).

Whilst the location is unbeatable the rest needs a serious update / upgrade. We’ve been charged close to USD 700 for one night in a shoe box sized hotel room with very little direct light and which had not been refreshed …. Ever. Nowhere to sit except on one of the bed. The bathroom is super small and the shower head and sinks data back to the 80s. Cleanliness is approximate. And lastly the staff is condescending (valet / butler) and non responsive (reception) … I’m still waiting for an answer on my late check-out despite reminding them and being on that occasion clearly showed that I was not to ask again. Avoid … 2 doors down (Harbour View) seems to have been refreshed, has the same location and from what I could see today upon checking quickly is half the price….
