The Milsom Hotel

For a small break of a few days, my partner and I wanted to treat ourselves to salubrious hotel room, and the Milsom fit the bill perfectly. Ideally located within walking distance of excellent shops, pubs, museums and restaurants, it was very enjoyable to have the hotel as the base point for our day, knowing it was never too far away. The staff were absolutely wonderful. Utterly professional service, welcoming attitudes and just a collectively friendly nature made every interaction a joy. The room itself was the best room I have ever had the pleasure of staying. Spacious and nicely equipped with radio, television, fridge, coffee maker and many others trimmings. It also had the most ridiculous bathroom, one that just stopped short of needing it's own post code, and like the room was beautifully fitted out. Light and airy, everything working faultlessly it was a great space to be in. We had breakfast included each morning in the rather marvellous restaurant which was superb each time. A wide range of choices, great tea and coffee, juices etc, I have nothing else to say other than bravo. I have only two criticisms of the stay. Firstly, I did something to the air conditioning system which was unable to rectified by staff so at times the room felt a touch warm. But to me, this is my fault and not the hotels as it was working when we arrived. And finally, we dined from the set menu one evening which was tasty but a touch inconsistent and lacking in size. Both our starters were excellent, but our mains were somewhat underwhelming, though I maintain the food itself was very good. I just needed a slightly larger steak and my partner needed less sauce in her main. I am aware this is a relatively new establishment in Bath but I contend it is already a great option for those seeking a little bit more than your regular hotel stay. If you want a delightful mix of excellent rooms and facilities, superb breakfast (especially if its included like ours) utterly wonderful staff and a location that is pretty unbeatable, look no further than the Milsom. My partner and I endeavour to return.

I recently treated my mother to a memorable experience at The Milsom, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. From the moment we stepped inside, the knowledgeable and friendly staff made us feel incredibly welcome. Their commitment to service excellence was evident throughout the evening, adding an extra touch of charm to our visit. The beauty of The Milsom captivated my mother, and she couldn't stop admiring the stunning surroundings. The carefully preserved heritage of the building, coupled with the tasteful decor, created an atmosphere that was both elegant and comforting. It was a truly remarkable setting for a memorable evening. My mother opted for the prawn cocktail and still hasn't stopped talking about it, days later. Based on the bartender's recommendation, I decided to try their gin martini, and it was a decision I did not regret. It was a delightful suggestion that added an extra touch of enjoyment to our evening. The attention to detail extended beyond the presentation of the food and drink, made it to be an exceptional gastronomic experience.

Stayed in The Milsom Hotel whilst working in Bath. The Room was comfortable and of a high standard, as is the main bar and restaurant. Have tried the food on a couple of occasions when returning (lunch, dinner) and all dishes I tried were very flavoursome and of generous portions. (The prawn linguine is to die for..!) Just a short walk from Bath train station it’s easily accessible even with public transport. Team were friendly and engaging. I enjoyed my stay and look forward to visiting again.
