Cannot get a more secluded and private location to escape the city. Tucked in a grove of trees the Monttra is quiet and still has easy access to a few great shops and restaurants - try three mermaids for dinner and sunset and do not skip Pj tavern !
Nice bungalows with a great nature themed atmosphere. Pool with an unbeatable view. The breakfast is limited in choice but very good. The service is a bit bi-polar. On one hand they are polite and ready to help with anything. On the other hand, they are really strict on hotel linnen. I had 4 rooms for the family, one with an extra bed. They forgot to place the extra set of towels...on checkout they made a big deal out of it, letting us wait. Finally, they figured it out. Also tried to charge extra for some makeup stain on the pillow.......this happens sometimes, its a hotel. This stuff should be in the roomrate.
We expected a better experience for $200 a night. Unfortunately, we found the hotel to be run down and the staff unresponsive, and we regret our booking. The hotel has so much potential as a retreat from bustling Pattaya, but this hotel fell short of that. From the other reviews, this hotel was once a great spot, but it is no longer. At first glance, this hotel looks amazing. It’s situated in a lush and quiet area. The rooms were immense and well-decorated. However, our awe transformed into disappointment when we found mold in the showers, dusty surfaces, and gecko droppings everywhere, as if the room hadn’t been occupied in weeks. Moreover, at 2 AM, my dad had trouble entering his room, and there was no one at the reception to assist him. The hotel was supposed to have a 24-hour reception. We ended up having to book him a room at another hotel. When we complained to the reception in the morning, we were told that the manager would contact us, but no one ever did. The breakfast was underwhelming. There were 3 tables and 2 front-of-house staff. We asked for some slices of lime, but they never brought them out. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone.
