The Motley Hotel Richmond Tapestry Collection by Hilton

We enjoyed nearly all aspects of our stay here. Location: Whilst parts of Richmond can be a little sketchy, we didn't feel unsafe walking around late at night. There aren't a huge number of nice restaurants within walking distance but the tram from the city stops right outside the hotel which is super handy. Room: fairly compact but with a super comfy bed, a tv with Chrome cast and a nice rain shower. Good quality toiletries. The only negative was the lack of a proper shower door so water runs out of the shower and into the bathroom floor. Service: the staff were friendly and helpful, especially the engineer who dealt with a tv issue for us on the first day. Food: Hilton Gold/ Platinum members get $25 pp daily F&B credit to spend at Mrs Parker, a lovely wine bar attached to the Motley Hotel for breakfast. This is much better that the usual mediocre continental breakfast at most Hiltons. Everything we tried was great, and I would have happily paid full price for it. Overall, it was great and we look forward to staying here again.

Perfect for what we needed. Above our expectations, beds were great, everything was clean. Easy walking distance to the MCG and we had my elderly parents with us. Great value for money and highly recommend.

Apart from the location and the amazing spread of breakfast, everything else leaves much to be desired. Poor service - I've specifically booked twin room but when I arrive, they say they had some miscommunication and they only had King room available. And they could only swap the next day. Everyday I had to re-check in because I've booked all nights separately. That's OK. What's not OK is that it was not communicated during check in, I was only informed abt this after me voicing out abt my card not working multiple days. During check out, they wanted to charge me for breakfast for one night cuz I "selected upgrades to preferred room as my MyWay benefit". I've checked the terms, I get to select either breakfast or bonus points. Upgrades to preferred rooms comes by default, but according to them "Tapestry works differently". I didn't even get an upgrade, and dare I say, a downgrade because I didn't get the room I paid for on the first day. Location and the room itself was great tho, Lots of street parking available, easily accessible to town. Room is OK, tho small it has everything basic you need. It's a unique hotel, very modern, lobby smells good. Breakfast is amazing, super impressed, 10/10, and the staff there provides better service than the hotel staff. All in all, not a fan, but for the location and the breakfast, I think I would still consider staying again
